January 19, 2011-According to reports a child riding a bicycle to Sequoia Elementary School was fatally injured when struck by an SUV.
According to Westminster police Cpl. Van Woodson the boy is identified as Andrew Brumback age 8 that was fatally injured in the intersection of Choctaw Drive and Iroquois Road, near the Sequoia Elementary School.
Brumback was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead at Huntington Beach Medical Center.
At the time the 8 year old was struck by the SUV he was riding his bicycle, accompanied by his older sister, according to Westminster School District spokeswoman Trish Montgomery.
The driver of the Ford Freestyle SUV was identified as Anita Cherry age 47 and a resident of Westminster. Cherry remained at the scene of the accident. No word on whether or not anyone in the family has retained a bicycle attorney, but we hope they get compensation for their injuries.
